Even if a person lives in this world for thousands of years, in the Hereafter he’d feel that he did not live but a few hours, a day or even a part of a day. Are we as keen on increasing our account in the other life, the eternal and perpetual one? For Allah All-Mighty says: 

 

           [ Whosoever desires (by his deeds) the reward of the Hereafter, We give him increase in his reward, and whosoever desires the reward of this world (by his deeds), We give him thereof (what is decreed for him), and he has no portion in the Hereafter.] (Ash-Shura : 20)

 

           O, Allah! Make us amongst those who fear you, even when unseen, and make us amongst those who fear Doomsday. Allah, don’t make us of those who perpetuate injustice or those deceived by the pleasures of this life. Praises be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the Worlds. And Peace and Blessings be upon His Prophet, who guided us to the Righteous path, the beloved Muhammad (pbuh) and upon his folks and Companions.
