the nation of Islam stand helpless against this plague till destroyed our morals and manners  befall us, and keep silent?… No, that will never be… We will never be cursed like the Israelis because, as Allah described us, we are the best of peoples raised up for mankind. We also followed Allah's Prophet and the best of all creatures, Muhammad- Peace be upon him. When Allah revealed the Holy Qur'an, we said: "We listened and we obeyed.", unlike the Children of Israel who said after the revelation of Torah and the Bible: "We listened and we disobeyed." As Allah explained to us in His Holy Book, if Allah wants to destroy a people, He makes the richest of them to be sinners. Then, Allah destroys them. But Allah also mentioned the reward of those who abandon sins. He All-Mighty says: [ And if the people of the towns had believed and had the Taqwa (piety), certainly, We should have opened for them blessings from the heaven and the earth. ] (Al-Araf :96)

Allah also says :

[ If only there had been among the generations before you persons having wisdom, prohibiting (others) from Al-Fasad (disbelief, polytheism, and all kinds of crimes and sins) in the earth, (but there were none) - except a few of those whom We saved from among them! Those who did wrong pursued the enjoyment of good things of (this worldly) life, and were Mujrimun (criminals, disbelievers  in  Allah,  Polytheists,  sinners). * And  your  Lord  would  never  destroy  the  towns
