fruits, cattle meat,
birds, fish, vegetables and so forth? We all know that
such things are useful for the body and the brain alike, and render them
healthier and fresher, so how can anyone come to say the smoking is one of
them?.. It has been proved to be extremely detrimental to the body and the
brain alike. It also causes the malignant diseases that often end with
sudden death because of angina, or heart attacks, which does not allow a man
even the chance of pronouncing his testimony of faith of Allah is one before
dying.
So., the Prophet’s companions, may Allah be pleased upon them all, during
the period of revelation they used to ask him about the prohibited and the
permissible kinds of food and beverage, because they were sharing such kind of

majesty, revealed to His Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him,
the following verse reading: -They ask you (O
Muhammad صلى
الله عليه
وسلم )
what is lawful for them (as
food).Say : “Lawful
unto you are Al-Tayyibat (all
kinds of Halal (lawful-good)
foods which Allah has made lawful . (Al-Ma’idah
4).
Then how come, we imagine that Allah, glory to Him, who permitted us to
enjoy His grace, eat pure things and drink pure water and delicious juices
of which our bodies make use and take pleasure in having these things, how
come He included to these purities the permissibility of burning dried
leaves so as to inhale the outgoing smoke? It harms our bodies., it renders
rotten the smell of our mouths; it also affects our minds so that we hang on
to it and insist on smoking it so much so that we cannot part with it
anywhere we go. It controls our temper, then. If we smoke, we become
easygoing, and pleasures and if we give it up we become grumpy and bad-tempered.
We in fact addict to it and become unable to give it up. Glory to Allah’
